an ENGINEERING Education Makes A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE
Encouraging young people to make a difference in the world through an engineering career is more likely to attract them than emphasizing the challenge of math and science skills The four messages that tested best are: • Engineers make a world of difference. • Engineers are creative problem-solvers. • Engineers help shape the future. • Engineering is essential to our health, happiness, and safety.

Inspiring Engineering Minds to Advance Human Health
The growth of this discipline at UCI has been very rapid beginning with the formation of the Center for Biomedical Engineering in 1998. The Center was funded by a generous $3 million Development Award from the Whitaker Foundation to accelerate the growth of the formal educational and research opportunities in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering. In 2002, three major milestones were achieved including the formation of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, two undergraduate degree programs, and the expansion of the graduate program leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering.
How to get Core Engineering Jobs? for Fresh Graduates
Core Engineering Job is a fundamental dream of many fresh engineering graduates today. The craze for IT and Software Engineering jobs have come down considerably among the young engineering students. Thanks to the economic downturn and IT recession. As an individual with great zeal to inspire young graduates to become truly passionate engineers, I am happy with this scenario.
Are you an Engineering Graduate or an Engineering Student with great passion to work and build your career in your own field of core engineering? Here are some important inputs for you.
Every time I meet students, go give a talk on my favorite topic “Career Engineering” I am often asked the following questions.

Engineers at Oregon State University have developed a new approach toward "sustainable manufacturing" that begins on the factory floor and tries to encompass the totality of manufacturing issues – including economic, environmental, and social impacts.
Engineering technologist
An engineering technologist is a specialist dedicated to the development and implementation of existing technology within a field of engineering. Engineering technology education is more applied than the more theoretical science-based engineering degree education. Technologists often work with engineers on a wide variety of projects by applying basic engineering principles and technical skills. Google Says 'Don't Be a Glasshole'
When Google first invited people to strap Google Glass to their faces, the device didn't come with an etiquette guide. Now, after thousands of users have tested the smart glasses for nearly two years through the company's Explorer program, Google is channeling its inner Miss Manners and offering some basic do's and don'ts on how to use Google Glass.

Much of Google's guidelines encourage users to use Google Glass to the full extent. "Explore the world around you," said the company on the Google Glass website. "Take advantage of the Glass voice commands. Be an active and vocal member of the Glass Explorer Community."
Google also knows that Glass shouldn't be used for everything. The company advises people not to get lost in Glass, since the device is meant to be used for short bursts of information.
"If you find yourself staring into the prism for long periods of time you're probably looking weird to the people around you," said Google. "So don't read 'War and Peace' on Glass."
But even using Glass for a couple of minutes is sure to pique a person's curiosity. "Don't wear it and expect to be ignored," said Google. The company adds that people will naturally ask questions about the device, and that Glass users should be polite and accommodating. "Be polite and explain what Glass does and remember, a quick demo can go along way."
Perhaps the company's most notable point is flat out telling Glass owners, "Don't be creepy or rude (aka a 'Glasshole')."
Google also says to treat Glass as if it were a cell phone. "If you're asked to turn off your phone, turn Glass off as well. Breaking the rules or being rude will not get businesses excited about Glass and will ruin it for other Explorers."
